The Day After

The day after Easter and all is well in the state of Connecticut, except that it's raining and raining good. At least it isn't snow. I don't mind rain. Rain doesn't need to be shoveled. Rain doesn't delay or cancel school for the day. Granted an excess of this moisture could cause that but not very likely.

What is likely though is our septic tank could backup. We get enough rain and the next thing you know the septic system is backing up into our basement into our washing machine. This has happened twice in the last two years so I see no reason for it not to happen again especially if we have a wet spring and the way things look right now we may be already headed that way. I am prepared though, the sump pump is in place.

Anyhow it's the day after Easter and I am back to work. The nice thing for today is that we have Parent-Teacher Conferences today through Wednesday. Being a "Specials" teacher I see very few parents which allows me to "catch-up" on all those little projects that have been put off. There may have a shorter day of school but nor a shorter of work to be done.
