This is one of my favorite Beatle songs, well okay, you got me, not at the tippy top but for today it is.

Recently the group STYX has recorded this song and it is true to form as the original recording, whereas this song was originally done in the recording studio with tape splices, over dubs,tracking etc. Styx performed this live. Awesome. So I'm hooked.AGAIN!

I Am The Walrus has been studied, torn apart, put back together and there have been pages upon pages written what this song is all about. Which is actually nothing. Yes, John Lennon was infatuated with death, yes he was pissed at the current establishment and was somewhat disillusioned but knowing that critics and such always try to analyze the songs of the Beatles, he wanted to do something that would really mess them up. So he pulled every little oddity that he could think of and put it into the song.

My favorite line is about Semolina Pilchard, sitting on the Eiffel tower, I'm sure you have yours. Enjoy the song for what it is, a Beatles song, be it a very different Beatles song and hooray to Styx for taking on this song. Hey, I love the video also.
