BLIZZARD CARSON

I grew up and lived most of my life in North Dakota. I now live in Connecticut. Today we are experiencing a Blizzard, which for someone from North Dakota is no big deal. Blizzard Carson (yes they name them) is a major event here. Even live TV coverage. Regular programming has been preempted.
Connecticut is a state that is a fraction of the size of North Dakota and has the widest variety of weather at the same time. Usually in ND weather is pretty much the same all over. Here in CT weather can vary from rain to fog to ice to drizzle to snow all in a matter of a few miles. Snow is now coming down at the rate of 2 inches an hour.
Now this storm is all over the state but again snow amounts vary from one side of the state to the other. Right now we are looking at 20" on the extreme western side of CT to the shoreline on the east at only a few inches and this is only a matter of 90 miles apart. This to me is amazing for a state that is no larger than one of ND largest counties and there are 52 counties in ND.
So what do we do on a weekend snowday? Nothing. Never fear as long as we have electricity all is fine. If we lose power then things will get interesting. Time to soon break out the snow shovels.
