Mac Attack

I see that Apple is on the move again with their new mini computer and mini ipod. I know my son's will be elated. New toys. My son's are both iGeeks and I say that with pride cause I'ma kinda sorta that way too, and with their guidance they have manage to keep me on top of the computer game.

I have and iMac, my wife and step-son each have PC's and I have a PC's at work. I also have the iPod which I use everyday in my car. I haven't gotten into the earbud thing yet though I do when I'm doing yardwork. So I run it through my radio, works for me. I see now where the iPods are getting into the education business. The use of iPods in music class. Awesome idea. Now iPods have become almost affordable for anyone who desires to own one.

My next step is into the wireless age. We are going wireless in our house, I purchased n Airport Card for my iMac and we are converting from Cable to DSL. I'm hoping this is a good choice cause it is a heck of a lot cheaper than cable. I will let you know for sure. I've heard all sides, from those who love it, to hate it to no difference. I'm hoping to say I love it. Again, I'll let you know.

We were going to get Satellite TV today also but because of the recent storm they couldn't install because of the snow & ice on the roof. Don't blame them one bit, so we are rescheduled for next week. It will happen.

Tis The Season

It's January, it's cold (sort of), it's white (for awhile), it wet (and sloppy) and it's icy (all the time). I digress, it's January, what do you expect? I live in the Northeast (CT) though I was raised in the upper Midwest (ND). I didn't think there would be a whole lot of difference in weather patterns but I was wrong. Weather that comes to CT can come from the Dakota's via Canada but we also get a whammy called a Nor'Easter where two systems collide, one from the north and a warmer/wet one from the south. Except for the bitter cold you end up with one doozy of a Storm.

I have a new found friend I call The Gripper. I put The Gripper on my shoes, they are made of rubber and gripper metal which enables me to walk on ice without slipping and falling. It's seems I've become prone to falling lately, twice in the last 2 months whereas I probably never fell once in 30 years even when I was "three sheets to the wind". Now I'm as sober as a judge but somewhere along the line my body has difficulty staying upright. I don't like falling, it really makes me feel insecure. So Grip and I have become fast friends.

Now you may wonder what January and my falling has to do with each other and the answer is simple. ICE. I have never in my life experienced as much ice as I have this year. Please, please, please give me snow without the prelude of ice.

FRIENDLY FRUNNY FRIDAY

FINALLY FRIDAY AND I CAN'T SPELL WORTH A DARN SO THIS WILL BE SHORT. THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO ADD A LITTLE MORE FREQUENTLY THAT I HAVE BEEN. GEE TWICE IN ONE WEEK HAS TO BE A RECORD.

THE NEWEST BOOK I'VE FOUND TO READ HERE AT SCHOOL IS SUITABLE FOR SCHOOL, CALLED "A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS". YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OF IT, THE FIRST THREE BOOKS WERE MADE INTO A MOVIE STARRING JIM CARREY.

I'M READING #10 THE SLIPPERY SLOPE, WHICH IS NOT THE BEST PLACE TO START A SERIES BUT THE WAY IT IS WRITTEN THE READER IS BROUGHT UP TO SPEED PRETTY QUICK AS TO WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PREVIOUS BOOKS.

I'M TOLD BY SOME VORACIOUS READERS HERE AT SCHOOL THAT THERE ARE 11 BOOKS IN ALL WITH #12 BEING WRITTEN. MAYBE I'LL GO BACKWARDS, READ 10 & 11 FIRST THEN GO BACKWARDS FROM THERE. IT'S AN IDEA, WHICH IN THIS INSTANCE MEANS A NEW THOUGHT. NOW IF YOU HAVE READ ANY OF THOSE BOOKS YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT LAST LINE MEANS.

OFF TO SEE HOW COUNT OLAF IS DOING .

24

I'm am addictive person. I hate that word but I'm an addict to whatever comes around. Right now my newest addiction is the TV show "24". I'm watching the 3rd season now, with the help of our friendly Blockbuster. Right now I just finished hour 8. One DVD, four episodes at a time. I've got a long ways to go.

Season 4 is starting this coming Sunday and even though I say I'm addicted to the show, I'm not. I'll forget it's on and that's okay cause that just shows my life doesn;t revolve around watching a certain TV show. Plus I'll have something new to rent from Blockbuster next year.

Usually a part of the evening is watching TV with my lovely wife, Divadeb. We'll watch our favorite sit-coms from 8:00 to 9:30 usually, sometime it stretches out to 10:00, that's when we feel we are living dangerously or maybe we are just too wide awake to got to bed.

SNOW DAY

SNOW DAY!!! Means something to some people and a pain to other people. A "SNOW DAY" is a wonderful thing of sorts. A day off from school. The trouble is, we just had 10 days off from school due to the holidays. Mother nature thinks otherwise
I feel for you that have to go to work regardless of the weather, you don't go to work you don't get paid. Simple.
The thing with snow days is you don't have a freebie. That day has to be made up before the school year ends. So now our school year is one day longer, so no complaining in the spring when we have to go that extra day. So even though there was no school today we pay for it in the end.
