CHANGING TIMES

I had a very nice birthday party yesterday to celebrate my 56th. It was nice to have some of the kids home for this event. Though I guess I have to realize that the family dynamic changes from time to time and we all have to adjust. Life is ever changing and that's a good thing I feel.
Yes, we all want to have it that same old, same old way and yes I do like it that way, but I cannot be afraid of changes. I have to learn to adapt with those changes and make them work for you the best you can.
What works for me is the Serenity Prayer:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
This little prayer has yet to fail me as long as I keep it in my thoughts and prayers.
